Overview
Founded in 2019, the School of Agriculture and Natural Resource at Mattu University has built a strong foundation in its five years of service. The school aims to excel in four key areas: academics, research, community service, and governance. These efforts align with the priorities of Mattu University, Ethiopia, and even the wider world.
Starting with just three undergraduate programs and five faculty members, the school has grown steadily. Today, it offers five Bachelor of Science (BSc) programs and one Master of Science (MSc) program.
The current programs include:
- - BSc in Animal Science
- - MSc in Animal Nutrition and Feed Science
- - BSc in Plant Science
- - BSc in Forestry
- - BSc in Land Administration and Surveying
- - BSc in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension
The school boasts a skilled team of faculty members, including two PhD candidates, two PhD holders, sixteen MSc holders (lecturers), four MSc candidates (graduate assistants), and two B.Sc. graduate assistants.
Currently, 134 students are enrolled in the BSc programs. The school strives to educate future agricultural experts who are not only knowledgeable but also possess critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to contributing to their communities.

Dean's Message
I'm incredibly proud to be the Dean of this school. Our faculty are dedicated to training well-rounded agricultural experts.
These experts will be scientifically knowledgeable, think critically, and tackle problems head-on. They'll also be passionate about conducting research and serving their communities.
Our school fully supports Mattu University's academic and research goals, and we place a special emphasis on diverse perspectives.
